SURABAYA, October 18, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) and PT Eratani Teknologi Nusantara have officially signed a cooperation agreement focused on the development and management of banking services within Eratani’s business ecosystem. The agreement was signed by bankjatim’s Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Enterprises, R. Arief Wicaksono, and CEO of PT Eratani Teknologi Nusantara, Andrew Soeherman, at bankjatim's HR Muhammad Branch in Surabaya on Friday (October 18).

Arief explained that this synergy aims to empower farmers by providing financial solutions and technical support to enhance productivity throughout the cultivation process.

“This partnership between bankjatim and Eratani is a strategic move in contributing to Indonesia’s agricultural sector. We believe agriculture holds great potential to drive national economic growth. Through this partnership, we hope to further increase the distribution of KUR (People’s Business Credit) and Jatim Micro Credit so that Eratani-assisted farmers can be even more productive,” he emphasized.

The scope of the agreement includes:

  • Provision of digital banking service infrastructure via a host-to-host system between the two parties

  • Access to capital for partner farmers and/or MSMEs in the agricultural sector who are registered and verified in the Eratani application

  • Development and expansion of access to other financial services from bankjatim to Eratani.

“This partnership aims to strengthen access to funding for farmers within the Eratani ecosystem. It comes at a crucial time when the agricultural sector faces challenges, particularly in accessing capital,” Arief added.

Through the available facilities, Eratani-assisted farmers will be able to access funding with easier terms and faster processes. bankjatim is offering several credit options, including:

  • KUR up to IDR 500 million

  • Jatim Micro Credit and KUR for agricultural machinery (alsintan) up to IDR 2 billion

These credit facilities are not only available to farmers, but also to partner shops that supply agricultural production inputs (saprotan) and rice processors.

“This flexibility allows farmers to align working capital needs with rice cultivation requirements efficiently and practically, enabling them to focus more on growing their agricultural businesses,” Arief stated.

Andrew added that Eratani provides credit risk protection in the disbursement of KUR and Jatim Micro Credit, allowing bankjatim to expand its business while maintaining credit quality.

“This partnership provides bankjatim with an opportunity to enhance its support for the growth and development of Indonesia's agricultural sector. Moving forward, Eratani will continue seeking partnerships with parties who share our vision, to achieve our mutual goal of advancing agriculture in Indonesia,” he said.

According to Andrew, the collaboration with bankjatim will pave the way for farmers to access more affordable and accessible financing. He believes this financial support will become a key driver of increased productivity and farmer welfare.

“East Java has been the largest rice producer in Indonesia for four consecutive years, reaching a production of 5.6 million tons in 2023. To support this achievement and ensure food supply sustainability, Eratani actively collaborates with partners like bankjatim to provide necessary funding for farmers. We hope this collaboration brings significant positive impacts to economic growth and the sustainability of East Java’s agricultural sector,” Andrew concluded.
