Supporting the Education Sector, Bank Jatim and Narotama University Sign MoU

SURABAYA, September 5, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Narotama University/Yayasan Pawiyatan Gita Patria. The MoU outlines cooperation in the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education (education, research, and community service), human resource development, and financial service provision. The signing took place in the Meeting Room of Narotama University and was conducted by bankjatim’s SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Relations, Koerniawan Prijambodo, and Chairman of Yayasan Pawiyatan Gita Patria, H.M. Budi Djatmiko, on Thursday (5/9).
Bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman explained that the planned collaboration between BJTM and Narotama University encompasses various areas, including education, research, community service, and the enhancement and empowerment of human resources. “In addition, we also plan to collaborate in financial services, including account opening services and lending,” he stated.
According to Busrul, the potential for development between Narotama University and bankjatim is significant. This includes opportunities to increase Third-Party Funds (TPF), especially from checking accounts and deposits, as well as multipurpose and consumer credit financing for university staff, investment and working capital loans for Narotama University, and payroll services for its employees.
There is also potential for opening student savings accounts at bankjatim, facilitating tuition payments (UKT) via QRIS and virtual accounts from bankjatim, and implementing human resource development programs for bankjatim employees. “We believe this collaboration will bring positive benefits to both parties. This partnership is part of bankjatim's commitment to supporting the education sector by providing accessible and innovative banking services,” he emphasized.
This partnership also aligns with bankjatim’s efforts to grow its business by reaching a wider customer base and offering premium services through mechanisms that support the tri dharma of higher education, while mutually reinforcing the roles and functions of both institutions. “We hope the synergy between bankjatim and Narotama University will optimize the management of bankjatim’s financial services and leverage the resources of both parties for shared progress,” said Busrul.
On this occasion, H.M. Budi Djatmiko expressed his highest appreciation to bankjatim for the established collaboration. He emphasized that strong partnerships between educational and financial institutions are expected to create an ecosystem that supports sustainable and highly competitive industry growth in Indonesia. “Thank you to bankjatim for the trust and collaboration in supporting Narotama University in developing the tri dharma of higher education. We hope this partnership will make a real contribution to Narotama University, bankjatim, and the nation as a whole,” he said.
