SURABAYA, October 18, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) and PT Eratani Teknologi Nusantara officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) concerning the development and management of banking services within the Eratani business ecosystem. The signing ceremony took place at the bankjatim HR Muhammad Branch in Surabaya on Friday (18/10), executed by bankjatim’s Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Business, R. Arief Wicaksono, and the President Director of PT Eratani Teknologi Nusantara, Andrew Soeherman.
Arief explained that this synergy aims to empower farmers by providing essential financial solutions and technical support to enhance productivity throughout the cultivation process. “This collaboration between bankjatim and Eratani is a strategic step toward contributing to Indonesia’s agricultural sector. We believe that agriculture holds immense potential to drive the national economy. Through this partnership, we aim to consistently increase the disbursement of People's Business Credit (KUR) and 'Jatim Mikro' Credit, enabling Eratani-mentored farmers to become more productive,” he asserted.
The scope of this agreement includes the provision of digital banking facilities through a host-to-host system integration, access to capital for partner farmers and agricultural MSMEs verified within the Eratani application, and the expansion of various other financial services from bankjatim to the Eratani ecosystem. “This partnership is designed to strengthen capital access for farmers integrated into Eratani’s ecosystem, addressing one of the most significant hurdles in the agricultural sector today—financing,” Arief explained.
Through these facilities, Eratani-mentored farmers can secure funding with streamlined requirements and expedited processing. bankjatim is offering several credit schemes, including KUR up to IDR 500 million, as well as 'Jatim Mikro' Credit and Agricultural Machinery (Alsintan) KUR up to IDR 2 billion. Beyond individual farmers, these facilities are also available to retail partners supplying agricultural production tools (saprotan) and rice processors. “This flexibility allows farmers to efficiently adjust their working capital for rice cultivation, allowing them to focus more effectively on business development,” Arief added.
Andrew Soeherman further noted that Eratani provides protection against the risk of non-performing loans (NPL) for the KUR and Jatim Mikro disbursements. This risk-sharing mechanism allows bankjatim to expand its business footprint while maintaining high credit quality. Looking ahead, Eratani remains open to partnership opportunities with stakeholders who share a similar vision of advancing Indonesia’s agricultural landscape.
According to Andrew, the collaboration with bankjatim paves the way for farmers to obtain easier and more affordable financing. He believes this financial support will serve as a catalyst for increased productivity and farmer welfare.
“East Java has been Indonesia’s largest rice producer for four consecutive years, with production reaching 5.6 million tons in 2023. To sustain this performance and ensure the continuity of the food supply, Eratani is actively collaborating with partners like bankjatim to provide necessary funding access. We hope this collaboration delivers a significant positive impact on the economic growth and sustainability of the agricultural sector in East Java,” he concluded.
