BALIKPAPAN, July 26, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has once again received a prestigious award as one of the issuers in the High Dividend category at the 2024 Emiten Appreciation Night, organized by Tempo-IDNFinancials Indeks52. The event, held at Hotel Novotel Balikpapan, saw the award presented to bankjatim Investor Relations AVP Derry Widya Ariyanta on Friday night (July 26).

The award was given in recognition of BJTM’s consistent annual dividend distribution. The Indeks52, launched by Tempo and IDNFinancials.com in June 2023, is now in its second year. After reviewing the financial reports as of December 2023, a total of 84 issuers were included in the Indeks52 constituents, divided into four categories: Main Index, High Growth, High Dividend, and Big Market Capitalization.

bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman expressed his deepest gratitude for the recognition. He acknowledged that over the past five years, the bank has continuously increased its dividend payments to shareholders. Most recently, dividends approved at the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders reached a record IDR 54.39 per share, representing a payout ratio of 55.55% from the bank’s 2023 net profit.

“The increasing annual dividends have made BJTM shares one of the public's favorite investment choices,” Busrul emphasized.

This dividend distribution aligns with BJTM’s strong performance in 2023. The bank’s total assets reached IDR 103.85 trillion, an increase of 0.80% compared to the previous year. “Overall, bankjatim has met the expectations of stakeholders. Various targets set for 2023 have been achieved. For instance, loan disbursement reached IDR 54.76 trillion, growing by 18.54% year-on-year (YoY)—well above the national credit growth average of just 10.3%,” he explained.

According to Busrul, as a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) under the East Java Provincial Government, bankjatim has consistently contributed to the region’s income through its dividend payouts. A concrete form of the bank's contribution to society is also demonstrated through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, “bankjatim peduli”. In 2023, the bank allocated IDR 17.4 billion in CSR funds, supporting sectors such as education, health, culture, and social welfare.

Through its CSR initiatives, BJTM aims to contribute to progress, empowerment, and community self-reliance, as well as support local economic development.

Luther Sembiring, a representative from the Indeks52 Committee, stated that the inclusion of 84 constituent issuers was based on their strong performance across multiple Indeks52 categories.

For context, in the Main Index category, market capitalization reached IDR 8.25 quadrillion; High Growth had IDR 7.17 quadrillion; High Dividend hit IDR 6 quadrillion, and Big Market Cap recorded IDR 8.43 quadrillion.

“These 84 companies represent less than 10% of the total issuers listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. We hope Indeks52 can serve as an alternative reference for prospective investors in the capital market,” Luther said.
