Bank Jatim Achieves Gold Rank ASRRAT 2023

JAKARTA, NOVEMBER 6, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) made another achievement. This time, bankjatim was awarded gold rank in The Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2023. Located at Raffles Hotel Jakarta, the prestigious award was received by bankjatim Corporate Secretary Wioga Adhiarma Aji on Monday (6/11) night. The ASRRAT event organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR) was attended by 68 companies and organizations with the theme Navigating the Path to Net Zero: Accelerating Climate Action In Asia.

President Director of bankjatim Busrul Iman explained, ASRRAT awarding is a ranking for Indonesian companies and other Asian countries that consistently implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) core business or business processes. "We are certainly proud of this achievement. Because, this shows that bankjatim's sustainability report is consistent in contributing to sustainable development goals. We hope that the gold rank award can be a motivation for bankjatim to achieve the company's performance targets," he said.

As for up to the ninth month in 2023, bankjatim's overall performance relatively met the target. Among other things, assets grew by 8.69% (YoY) or Rp107 trillion with contributions from an increase in productive assets, namely ownership of securities which rose 10.29% (YoY), lending grew 12.61% (YoY) and management of the company's productive assets generated interest income which grew 3.8% (YoY) with a net profit in September 2023 of Rp 1.09 trillion.

Next, in terms of credit, during the third quarter of 2023, bankjatim managed to record a significant increase in credit growth of 12.61% (YoY). The growth was above the average growth of the banking industry sector as of September at 8.96% (YoY). Bankjatim's highest credit growth occurred in the productive sector (commercial and SME) by 25.44% (YoY) and the consumer sector by 4.74% (YoY).

Meanwhile, NCCR Chair Dr. Ali Darwin appreciated the participants of ASRRAT 2023. "The dedication of companies and organizations to transparency and accountability and their initiatives to measure and mitigate social environmental impact risks is inspiring. The sustainability report has provided valuable insights into the progress made in reducing emissions, conserving resources and advancing social justice. It also serves as a road map for other businesses and organizations to follow," he explained.

On the occasion, ASRRAT 2023 Chief Judge Prof. Irwan Adi Ekaputra also said that ASRRAT 2023 experienced a significant increase from the previous year. The participants are not only from Indonesia. But also from Bangladesh, the Philippines, Australia, and Russia. "This is really encouraging because it indicates an increase in the commitment and dedication of organizations in the world towards sustainability efforts and responsible business practices," he concluded.
