BOJONEGORO, September 30, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to expand its business synergy with various stakeholders in support of economic growth throughout East Java. One of these partnerships includes a collaboration with the Bojonegoro Regency Government. On Monday (30/9), bankjatim and the Bojonegoro Regency Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Digitalization of Regional Financial Management. The signing took place at Hotel Aston Bojonegoro and was carried out by bankjatim's SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Affairs Koerniawan Prijambodo and Acting Regional Secretary of Bojonegoro Regency Djoko Lukito.

President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that technological developments today are rapidly advancing. Given this, bankjatim must inevitably keep pace with technological advancements in the banking sector to meet the service needs of the public, villages, and regional governments. "That’s why we are currently being aggressive in implementing the digitalization of regional financial management across East Java, including in Bojonegoro," he stated.

According to Busrul, the implementation of the Digitalization of Regional Financial Management and Optimization of Regional Revenue in Bojonegoro Regency is expected to accelerate the adoption of BJTM’s digital products and services. This is part of bankjatim's support for the success of the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) program. "The Bojonegoro Regency Government is an existing customer of bankjatim's Bojonegoro Branch, with total managed third-party funds (DPK) reaching IDR 4.1 trillion as of early August 2024, and having 8,677 accounts through the Multipurpose Credit facility at the Bojonegoro branch," he explained.

Busrul further conveyed that the general function of banks is to collect funds from the public (funding) and distribute them in the form of loans (lending) for various purposes. Therefore, bankjatim hopes the synergy with the Bojonegoro Regency Government in the General Regional Financial Management System, as well as in Regional Tax and Retribution Revenue, will continue to develop positively. "We hope bankjatim Bojonegoro Branch can continuously align with the programs of the Bojonegoro Regency Government as a shareholder to support economic growth and regional potential development," he added.

In addition, on Tuesday (01/10), bankjatim also signed an MoU with Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas regarding Cooperation in Financial Services and the Implementation of the University’s Tridharma (three pillars: education, research, community service) and Human Resource Development. The MoU, signed at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, was executed by Koerniawan Prijambodo (SEVP Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Affairs of bankjatim) and the university’s Rector, Yudi Sutarso.

The planned collaboration between BJTM and Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas encompasses various areas, including education, research, community service, as well as human resource enhancement and empowerment. "Additionally, we are planning to establish synergy in financial services, such as bank account openings and financing solutions," he said.

According to Busrul, there is significant potential for collaboration between Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas and bankjatim. This includes increasing third-party funds (DPK), particularly from current accounts and deposits; providing multipurpose and consumer credit for university staff; offering investment and working capital loans to the university; and delivering payroll services for university employees.

There is also potential for opening savings accounts for students, enabling tuition payments through bankjatim’s QRIS and virtual account services, and implementing human resource development programs for bankjatim employees. "We believe this collaboration will yield positive benefits for both parties. This partnership is part of bankjatim's commitment to supporting the education sector with accessible and innovative banking services," he emphasized.

On this occasion, Yudi Sutarso expressed his deep appreciation to bankjatim for establishing this synergy. He stated that such collaboration between educational institutions and financial institutions is expected to foster an ecosystem that supports sustainable and competitive industry growth in Indonesia. "Hopefully, this partnership will make a meaningful contribution to Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, bankjatim, and the nation as a whole," he concluded.
