PALEMBANG, September 29, 2025. As a form of support for the programs of the East Java Provincial Government, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) on Monday (29/9) participated in the Trade and Investment Mission activity with the theme "Increasing Connectivity Networks between East Java Province and South Sumatra Province." Located at the Wyndham Hotel Palembang, the event was attended by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, and the President Director of Bank Jatim, Winardi Legowo.
Winardi explained that Bank Jatim continues to be committed to supporting East Java MSMEs in increasing their competitiveness so they can penetrate national and international markets. "By including fostered MSMEs in the Trade Mission, Bank Jatim is committed to supporting them so they can reach a wider market. We are optimistic that these excellent products will attract attention and create potential business collaborations," he explained.
According to Winardi, through the Trade Mission agenda, MSMEs can establish direct interaction with potential markets in South Sumatra. This is in line with the company's role, which not only provides banking services but is also consistent in supporting the capacity building and business expansion of MSME actors. There were 3 Bank Jatim fostered MSMEs included in the Trade Mission event. Among them were Batik Puspita MSME from Pacitan, as well as two MSMEs from Madiun, namely Pecel Bu Pariyem and Djamoe. "The hope is that the products of Bank Jatim's fostered MSMEs will be able to provide added value while meeting the needs of the South Sumatra community," he clarified.
Meanwhile, the Governor of East Java (Jatim), Khofifah Indar Parawansa, mentioned that the transaction value in the trade mission activities of the East Java Provincial Government and South Sumatra reached Rp 1 trillion. This figure exceeded the target of Rp 500 billion. Some of the commodities sold included processed poultry, milk, sugarcane brown sugar, chicken meat, rice, shallots, welding machines, cigarettes, frozen fish, and kitchen utensils for the free nutritious meal program.
The Trade Mission is present not only as an inter-regional trade activity but also as a joint effort to encourage the realization of provincial and national development targets. "We want to weave the red and white (flag), don't just calculate everything in economic terms. We are a great nation, and the connection of brotherhood can be in various formats, one of which is through this trade and investment," said Khofifah.
This achievement is the result of synergy and trust between regions in supporting domestic products. This is concrete proof that East Java continues to be committed to encouraging national economic growth and is optimistic about realizing domestic market strength.
