SURABAYA, September 24, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) has officially conducted a synergy with PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi (SFT). This was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement related to virtual account services integrated with the Edufin application system, as well as the signing of an MoU regarding financial services in the education sector. Located at the office of PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi, the agreement was signed by Vice President of Funds and Services Yetty Fitria S., Vice President of Institutional Relations Rachman Subiyantoro, and Head of Product Division of PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi Ronald Argand Pinontoan on Wednesday (24/9).
Bank Jatim's President Director Winardi Legowo explained that his party is grateful for this collaboration. Bank Jatim hopes that the cooperation with SFT can provide significant benefits for both the company and educational institutions partnered with SEVIMA and SFT, such as an increase in frequency, transaction volume, and new customer expansion. "This cooperation aims to simplify and accelerate the process of paying education fees for students at institutions that use Edufin. We are optimistic that the synergy of this integrated virtual account service will provide many positive benefits for both parties, such as ease of payment and administrative efficiency because every transaction will be recorded automatically and in real-time," he stated.
For information, PT Sentra Vidya Utama (SEVIMA) is a service company that develops higher education information systems since 2004. SEVIMA has led the higher education sector market in Indonesia with a total of more than 1,200 higher education partners and serves more than 4 million users. SEVIMA, through its Edufin service, collaborates with various payment channels to facilitate educational institutions in making online payments because it is easy, secure, guaranteed, and can be done anywhere. Over time, Edufin has spun off into SEVIMA's sister company, namely PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi (SFT), and has obtained ISO 27001 certification. Currently, more than 400 educational institutions have switched to cashless payments using the Edufin service and have processed more than 1 million payment transactions with a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of more than 3.3 trillion rupiah per year.
According to Winardi, there are quite a lot of potentials that can be developed between PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi and Bank Jatim. Among them are opportunities for optimizing services and managing funds in the environment of universities partnered with PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi, which is expected to increase Bank Jatim's Third Party Funds (DPK), especially Giro (Current Accounts). Furthermore, there are 81 higher education institutions with approximately 100,611 students that have partnered with PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi in the East Java region, which has the potential to increase cooperation with Bank Jatim as a partner bank, as well as the potential for providing multi-purpose credit facilities (KMG) for all employees at universities partnered with PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi.
Winardi affirmed that this collaboration also proves that Bank Jatim is taking part in efforts to build an inclusive digital payment ecosystem in the education sector. "We hope that Bank Jatim's virtual account facility can further simplify the payment of education fees by students and related parties," he explained.
Ronald Argand Pinontoan also added that his party welcomes this cooperation and expressed his appreciation for Bank Jatim's involvement in providing easy and secure payment facilities for the education sector. Edufin itself has many advantages, such as being transparent and accountable, integrated and automated, easily accessible, and secure and reliable. "This facility will further simplify for parents and students to make payments for various needs at Edufin partners. We hope this cooperation can be a good start for PT Sentra Finansial Teknologi and Bank Jatim to continue collaborating for the development of the education sector and increasing financial inclusion in Indonesia," he concluded.
