Bank Jatim Awarded by Detik.com for Excellence in Sustainable Business Financing Growth

MALANG, November 5, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) continues to achieve brilliant performance. Most recently, Bank Jatim has officially received the Commendable Business Program Award in the Sustainable Business Financing Improvement category at the 2025 detikJatim Awards. This award is given for Bank Jatim's positive performance in encouraging financing oriented towards environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability. Located at Grand Mercure Malang, the award was received by Bank Jatim's Director of Medium Business, Corporate & Network, Arif Suhirman, on Wednesday night (5/11).
Arif expressed his sincere gratitude to Detik.com for the award given to Bank Jatim. "This is all thanks to the hard work of all Jatimers. This award will further spur our spirit to continue our commitment to boosting the East Java economy, which is the new gateway to the archipelago from all aspects," he added.
According to Arif, the award from Detik.com is a form of recognition for Bank Jatim's commitment to presenting financial innovation that is not only profit-oriented but also has a positive impact on the environment and society. "We will continue to strive to encourage the financing of green and social projects that contribute to sustainable development. This award further confirms Bank Jatim's position as a national bank that is not only focused on financial performance but also strongly committed to strengthening the green finance ecosystem and accelerating the transition towards a sustainable economy in Indonesia," he explained.
Throughout 2024, the channeling of funds for the green economy sector was recorded to have jumped almost fourfold, from Rp 1.3 trillion in 2023 to Rp 5.6 trillion. This surge is concrete proof of Bank Jatim's commitment to encouraging economic growth in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The increase in financing was channeled to various strategic sectors that have a positive impact on the environment and sustainable development. Of the total funds channeled, the energy efficiency sector was the largest recipient with a value reaching Rp 2.4 trillion. Meanwhile, the sustainable management of biological natural resources and land use absorbed more than Rp 2 trillion. The sustainable water and wastewater management sector received financing of Rp 557.4 billion.
Detik.com's Editor-in-Chief, Alfito Deanova Gintings, said that this event is a form of appreciation for individuals, communities, government agencies, BUMD (Regional-Owned Enterprises), and private companies that continue to contribute and have a positive impact on society. The selection of the award recipients was carried out through a series of strict stages by the editorial board of detikcom and detikJatim.
