Bank Jatim Delivers Healthy Latrine CSR to Sidoarjo Regency Government to Boost Community Quality of Life.

SURABAYA, May 5, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) has officially handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Sidoarjo Regency Government. The assistance provided is in the form of 60 points for the construction of healthy latrines. Located at the Bank Jatim Waru Sub-Branch Office, the CSR was symbolically handed over by Bank Jatim Director of IT, Digital, and Operations Zulhelfi Abidin to Sidoarjo Regent Subandi on Monday (6/5).
Zulhelfi explained that the CSR from Bank Jatim aims to further improve public sanitation and health. The construction of 60 latrine points is focused on the areas that need it most. "This assistance is a tangible form of our concern for public health and the realization of a clean environment. Bank Jatim wants to contribute to helping change old unhealthy habits and ensure all families have access to proper sanitation facilities," he stated.
According to Zulhelfi, through this healthy latrine assistance, Bank Jatim has shown its dedication to helping improve the quality of life of the community. His party believes that with support from all parties, Sidoarjo Regency can create a better environment for future generations.
"This healthy latrine assistance can be an initial step towards a better change for improving the quality of life of the community. Everyone must work hand in hand, it cannot be supported by the government alone. Let us all unite to create a better future for the next generation. Because, active involvement from various parties is expected to provide a real and positive impact in promoting public welfare," he elaborated.
Meanwhile, Regent Subandi expressed his appreciation for Bank Jatim's real contribution in the field of sanitation. He underlined that even though Sidoarjo has held the status of an open defecation-free (ODF) area, there are still around 2,000 households that do not have decent latrines. "God willing, we will cover this shortage together through synergy with the community and CSR support. We routinely go down to the field every weekend to ensure that residents in need are not neglected," he said.
Subandi also emphasized the Sidoarjo Regency Government's strong commitment to prioritizing community welfare. With an APBD support of Rp5.2 trillion, various social programs including the distribution of free food continue to be rolled out. Not only concerning sanitation, Regent Subandi also encouraged Bank Jatim to provide easy access to financing with affordable interest rates for MSME actors.
On the occasion, the relocation of the Bank Jatim Waru Sub-Branch Office was also inaugurated. Now, Bank Jatim Capem Waru has officially moved from Jalan Raya Tropodo to Ruko Gateway Block B2 Jalan Raya Waru. "We did this with business considerations and a strategic location. Hopefully, the good cooperation between Bank Jatim and Sidoarjo Regency can continue," Zulhelfi emphasized.
