JAKARTA, June 14, 2024 – In a continued effort to strengthen synergies with various partners, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Asuransi Tugu Pratama Indonesia Tbk (Tugu Insurance) on Friday (June 14). The MoU outlines collaboration on financial and insurance services for bankjatim’s customers. The signing ceremony took place at Wisma Tugu 1, Jakarta, and was attended by bankjatim’s Acting Director of Operations Zulhelfi Abidin, Tugu Insurance’s Director of Compliance and Risk Management Edi Yoga Prasetyo, bankjatim’s SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Affairs Koerniawan Prijambodo, and Tugu Insurance Deputy Director Ibrahim Jauhari.

Zulhelfi explained that the partnership with Tugu Insurance reflects bankjatim’s commitment to providing protection and the best services to its customers.
“The scope of this MoU includes the placement of Tugu Insurance funds in bankjatim, as well as financial banking services such as account management and its derivatives to facilitate Tugu Insurance’s banking transactions,” he said.

As is widely known, Tugu Insurance is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) and operates across multiple business segments, including general insurance, reinsurance, leasing, and other related services. Tugu Insurance continues to grow its presence beyond its captive market by expanding into non-energy insurance, such as aviation, personal accident, health, sharia insurance, and corporate retail products. Thus, bankjatim warmly welcomes this partnership, especially as the bank aims to improve its service quality in the insurance sector.

“The collaboration between bankjatim and Tugu Insurance is part of our efforts to strengthen partnerships with various parties and develop our business lines. With the insurance industry experiencing growth in Indonesia, we hope this partnership will bring positive outcomes for both parties,” said Zulhelfi.

He further emphasized the importance of insurance as financial protection against life’s uncertainties. With this partnership, bankjatim and Tugu Insurance aim to provide convenience and a sense of security for customers when conducting transactions.
“By involving Tugu Insurance, one of the largest general insurance companies in Indonesia, we hope to increase customers' trust in using our products and services,” he added.

During the same occasion, Edi Yoga Prasetyo expressed his gratitude for the synergy established with bankjatim. He noted that with Tugu Insurance’s wide branch network and the support of proper technology implementation, the company is optimistic that this partnership will deliver added value to both parties.

“We also hope this MoU marks the beginning of a strong collaboration that brings many benefits to customers. We are confident this step will serve as a positive foundation for the company’s long-term and sustainable strategic business plans,” he stated.
