LAMPUNG, August 7, 2025. As a form of support for the programs of the East Java Provincial Government, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) on Thursday (7/8) participated in the Trade and Investment Mission activity with the theme "Increasing Connectivity Networks between East Java Province and Lampung Province." Held at Swiss-Belhotel Lampung, the event was attended by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, the Acting President Director of Bank Jatim, Arif Suhirman, and the President Director of Bank Lampung, Mahdi Yusuf.
Arif explained that Bank Jatim remains committed to always supporting East Java MSMEs in increasing their competitiveness so they can penetrate national and international markets. "We include Bank Jatim's assisted MSMEs in this Trade Mission activity as an effort to expand their market. We are confident that these products can attract the interest of visitors and potentially open new business opportunities for business actors," he explained.
According to Arif, through the Trade Mission, MSMEs can obtain a strategic platform to introduce their products to potential markets in Lampung. In this case, the company not only provides various banking services to MSME customers but also actively provides mentoring and support in developing their businesses. There are 3 Bank Jatim assisted MSMEs participating in the Trade Mission event. These include Batik Gajah Mada MSME, Majapahit Chocolate MSME, and CYS Fried Shallots MSME. "The superior products of Bank Jatim's assisted MSMEs are expected to provide benefits according to the needs of the community in the Lampung Province area," he clarified.
On the same occasion, a Conditional Share Subscription and Takeover Agreement was also signed between Bank Jatim and Bank Lampung as a follow-up to the formation of a Bank Business Group (KUB). The signing was carried out by Arif Suhirman and Mahdi Yusuf, witnessed by Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Rahmat Mirzani Djausal. "The purpose and objective of this agreement is to regulate the procedures for the execution of capital injection and the formation of the KUB between the parties, so that Bank Lampung agrees to increase its paid-up capital, which will then be subject to capital injection by Bank Lampung," said Arif.
According to him, the KUB between Bank Jatim and Bank Lampung is an effort to strengthen the structure, resilience, and competitiveness of the banking industry, which can eventually reach a more efficient level towards a higher economic scale. Moving forward, banks undergoing the KUB process with BJTM can become competitive Regional Development Banks in the regional scope and be able to advance development and the economy in their respective regions as well as on a national scale.
Mahdi Yusuf added that he is confident that this KUB will bring about many positive changes in Bank Lampung, so that in the future Bank Lampung will be stronger and can maximize the potential of the existing synergy. "By synergizing the KUB with Bank Jatim, we are confident that it can have a positive impact on Bank Lampung's business performance. One of the things we will prepare is Human Resources so that all work programs can be realized well and optimally," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah also said that the signing of the agreement between Bank Lampung and Bank Jatim is expected to further build banking connectivity between the two provinces. "Of course, this will strengthen the performance of regional development banks in the two provinces and at the same time support economic growth, the financial sector, and become an entry point for cooperation between East Java and Lampung Provinces. This cooperation is carried out in accordance with the regulations set by the Financial Services Authority (OJK)," she stated.
Furthermore, the total final transaction in the Trade and Investment Mission between East Java and Lampung reached Rp 1.055 trillion. This achievement is a significant increase compared to the event in 2023, which saw 35 transactions with a value of Rp 285.52 billion. "This achievement is the result of synergy and trust between regions in supporting domestic products. This is tangible proof that East Java continues to be committed to encouraging national economic growth and is optimistic about realizing the strength of the domestic market," Khofifah concluded.
