Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K 2025: Uniting Spirit, Music, and Sport Tourism in Surabaya.

SURABAYA, July 19, 2025. The City of Surabaya will host a prestigious running event titled Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K 2025 on Sunday, September 28, 2025. This event is a collaboration between Suara Surabaya Media and the Surabaya City Government, with full support from PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) as the main sponsor.
The Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K is designed not just as a sports competition, but also as a strategy for developing sport tourism in Surabaya. The "City of Heroes" is considered to have great appeal encompassing historical wealth, architectural beauty, and the friendliness of its citizens, which has significant potential to be promoted through sports-based activities. Through this event, organizers target the participation of 3,000 runners from various backgrounds, ranging from the people of Surabaya to other cities in Indonesia.
Eri Cahyadi, the Mayor of Surabaya, previously expressed his desire to make Surabaya a world-class sport tourism destination. He believes that organizing sports events, including running, is capable of enhancing the city's image and driving local economic growth. "Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K is part of the effort to support that vision," said Verry Firmansyah, CEO of Suara Surabaya Media and Steering Committee of this event.
“We designed a race route that passes through the city's proud icons, providing a unique running experience while enjoying the spirit and beauty of Surabaya. The start and finish points are located at the Surabaya City Hall,” he added.
Four race categories will be held in this event: National 10K Male, National 10K Female, Master 10K Male (age 45+), and Master 10K Female (age 45+). Verry hopes this event will also receive a recommendation from the East Java Provincial Board of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI), which will make this event a momentum for the personal best achievements of East Java's mainstay athletes.
To ensure the quality and credibility of the event, Suara Surabaya Media has partnered with a certified race director from the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). The running track will be professionally prepared and meet national standards, with semi-sterile security.
As part of strengthening sport tourism, participants will also receive other unique experiences. Race pack collection and carbo loading sessions will be held in conjunction with the Jazz Traffic Festival (JTF). JTF, an annual music event held by Suara Surabaya Media that has become an entertainment icon in Surabaya, will take place on September 27-28, 2025, at Grand City Surabaya. This serves as an additional attraction for Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K participants.
The event is fully supported by the Surabaya City Government, Bank Jatim, various private sponsors, and the people of Surabaya.
