Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K Successfully Engages Over 3,000 Participants.

SURABAYA, September 28, 2025. The Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K event was successfully held. 3,000 runners from various regions were seen crowding the Surabaya City Hall on Sunday morning (28/9). This event is a collaboration between Suara Surabaya Media and the Surabaya City Government, with full support from PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) as the main sponsor. Precisely at 5:30 AM, the flag-off was waved by the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, President Director of Bank Jatim, Winardi Legowo, Director of Medium Business, Corporate & Network of Bank Jatim, Arif Suhirman, CEO of Suara Surabaya, Verry Firmansyah, and Head of OJK East Java, Yunita Linda Sari.
Winardi explained that the Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K was designed to promote a healthy lifestyle while also serving as a means to bring Bank Jatim's services closer to the public. "Running is a sport that anyone can participate in. Through this event, we also want to be closer to the community, especially in Surabaya," he explained.
According to Winardi, the Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K is capable of bringing significant benefits to the digital economy ecosystem. The presence of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) actors transacting using Bank Jatim's QRIS is concrete proof. "In this event, we involved MSMEs and all transactions used Bank Jatim's QRIS. This is also a way to introduce our JConnect Mobile platform, which is easily accessible to the wider community. Therefore, with the combination of mass sport, MSME participation, and the utilization of digital technology, the Bank Jatim JConnect Run Surabaya 10K is expected to continue to be a routine annual agenda," he stated.
On that occasion, Eri also expressed his gratitude for the successful organization of this annual agenda. According to him, running events in the City of Surabaya have become a lifestyle for the community. "Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the JConnect Run is now in its second year, held by Bank Jatim in the City of Surabaya. This year's run is 10K, and the movement is extraordinary in the City of Surabaya. There are more than 3,000 participants, and certainly, a large event like this can mobilize the MSMEs of Surabaya City," he remarked.
Eri hoped that in the future, Bank Jatim could make this event an annual agenda with a larger number of participants and more categories. His party also emphasized the commitment of the Surabaya City Government to support various running activities by providing attractive running routes. "Alhamdulillah, Surabaya is indeed a city we have prepared for running. We have provided routes for 10K, even marathon, half marathon, and 5K are also ready," he clarified.
With the prepared routes, Eri is optimistic that more clubs or parties will organize running events in the City of Surabaya, ranging from 5K, 10K, to marathons. Because, besides providing good health benefits for the body, running events also have a positive impact on economic movement. "With this run, the movement of MSMEs is extraordinary. The economy moves, the MSMEs move. A multiplier effect will be created," he added.
Rudy Hartono, Chairman of the Soerabaja 10K Organizing Committee, also said that there were two categories competed in the 10-kilometer (km) running competition: National 10K and Master 10K. In each category, there are male and female groups. With the high enthusiasm of the participants, he hopes that Soerabaja 10K will not only be held this one time but can be held again in subsequent years. In addition, his party also hopes that with this running event, participating community members can become more familiar with Surabaya and its various tourism spots. "We have coordinated this route with the city government to patent it, so if people want to hold the same event or an event with the same 10K route but a different name, they can also use the route we are using today," he said.
As is known, the Bank Jatim JConnect Run Soerabaja 10K route started from Jalan Wali Kota Mustajab, Jalan Pemuda, Jalan Panglima Sudirman, Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Jalan Embong Malang, Jalan Blauran, Jalan Bubutan, Jalan Tembaan, Jalan Pahlawan, Jalan Gemblongan, Jalan Tunjungan, Jalan Gubernur Suryo, Jalan Yos Sudarso, Jalan Ketabang Kali, and then returned to Jalan Wali Kota Mustajab.
