Bank Jatim Sharia Business Unit Awarded Three Awards at Once in BPKH Award 2023

JAKARTA, December 15, 2023 - bankjatim Sharia Business Unit (UUS) won three awards at once from the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) at the Annual Meeting and Banking Award 2023. Located at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, the award was received by bankjatim's Director of Finance, Treasury and Global Services Edi Masrianto accompanied by bankjatim's Sharia Unit SEVP Umi Rodiyah on Friday night (12/15).
As for the awards achieved, namely Umrah Reward BPKH BPD category (5th best), BPS BPIH Sustainable Finance 2023 BPD category (3rd best), and BPS BPIH Best Hajj Registrar 2023 BPD Category (2nd best).
Edi explained that he really appreciated and thanked the award and also the trust of BPKH to bankjatim, especially to UUS in becoming a banking partner for the acceptance of Hajj deposits. "This award is also an encouragement for us to always innovate the best Islamic banking services to the community, especially the people of East Java," he said.
Edi revealed, UUS bankjatim currently has a variety of banking products and services, especially Islamic banking services to meet customer transaction needs, especially Hajj savings services. "We are increasingly aggressive in carrying out various strategies to improve the performance of UUS. One of the strategies we have done is launching Dual Banking Leveraging Model (DBLM) last October 2023," he said.
The DBLM concept is a business model where banks optimize conventional infrastructure and resources to expand the market share of Islamic banking. Thus, it can have an impact on the growth of the financial performance of UUS and conventional banks. Through this strategy, Islamic banks can market their products through marketers and their parent infrastructure. So, the company is more efficient, because in terms of costs it can go down and sales can synergize better. Through the DBLM strategy, Islamic banks do not make conventional banks as rivals. Rather, it makes Islamic banks a complement to conventional bank products.
Meanwhile, Member of BPKH Executive Board Harry Alexander revealed, this annual activity aims to appreciate dozens of Banking Partners who become Deposit Receiving Banks for Hajj Pilgrimage Costs (BPS BPIH). These banks are considered to have provided tangible evidence in services and partnerships in the hajj and sharia economic movements in Indonesia.
Carrying the theme 'Stronger partnership, stronger togetherness in Hajj Finance' BPKH specifically gave awards to Islamic bank partners who have the Best Sustainability Finance program in 2023. The program includes an Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) assessment component that promotes sustainable development, investment and business activities.
"This award is given to BPKH partners engaged in Islamic finance in order to provide a strong network and a sustainable investment industry. We hope that in the future Islamic banks will also participate in supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly development," said Harry.
There are at least five categories in the BPKH Sustainable Banking Award 2023 given to the performance of 30 BPKH partner Islamic Banks, namely: First, BPS BPIH (Islamic Bank) Best Hajj Registrar Collection 2023. Second, BPS BPIH (Islamic Bank) Best Millennial Hajj Registrar 2023. Third, BPS BPIH (Islamic Bank) Best Hajj Registrant Growth 2023. Fourth, BPS BPIH (Islamic Bank) Best Placement Partner 2023. Fifth, BPS BPIH Best Investment Function 2023 and finally BPS BPIH (Islamic Bank) Best Sustainable Finance Program 2023.
