BANJARMASIN, 17 September 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) continues to fully support the East Java Provincial Government's programs, one of which is strengthening domestic trade connections through the Trade and Investment Mission. This is realized by including several Bank Jatim assisted MSMEs in the Trade Mission held in Banjarmasin on Wednesday (17/9). Located at the Galaxy Hotel Banjarmasin, the event was attended by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province Muhammad Syarifuddin who represented the Governor of South Kalimantan, and Bank Jatim Compliance Director Umi Rodiyah.
Umi explained that the trade mission is a platform to bring together MSME actors across regions or provinces with buyers. Besides business meetings, this event also serves as a gateway for socio-cultural exchange between regions. "We are currently striving to help overcome the problems faced by MSME actors. Starting from market access, financing, to mentoring. Bank Jatim strongly supports MSMEs in developing their businesses. Well, one of Bank Jatim's missions in this activity is to help its assisted MSMEs expand their market network and support the government in strengthening trade relations between East Java and South Kalimantan Provinces," she explained.
There are 3 Bank Jatim assisted MSMEs included in the event. Among them are chili sauce products from MSME Sambel Bu Luthfi, woven bag crafts from MSME RaciQ, and typical Mojokerto batik products from MSME Batik Erna. These superior products from Bank Jatim's assisted MSMEs are expected to provide benefits according to the needs of the community in the South Kalimantan area. "As a regional bank, we will continue to support MSMEs so that their growth is faster and they have good quality so they can compete in the national and international markets," Umi said.
Furthermore, on that occasion, Bank Jatim also presented the batik masterpiece of Mojokerto city, Batik Erna Surodinawan, and elegant batik fashion from Rasuan Lampahan by Lyna Desriana. Various superior batik motifs were successfully showcased by Raka – Raki Jawa Timur in this Trade Mission event. "This batik cloth performance is one of Bank Jatim's ways to preserve and excite the community about loving ancestral heritage, especially for the younger generation. Hopefully, in the future, the community of batik enthusiasts will increase and Indonesian batik can become more known on the international stage," Umi stated.
The event successfully recorded a proud result. In one day of meetings, business actors from both regions managed to achieve a transaction value of up to Rp1.661 trillion. Of that amount, East Java recorded sales of Rp1.574 trillion, while purchases of products from South Kalimantan reached Rp86.8 billion.
Khofifah Indar Parawansa expressed appreciation for the high enthusiasm of business actors, both from East Java and South Kalimantan. She emphasized that this trade mission is not just a trade transaction event, but a space to strengthen synergy and cross-regional networks. "The interest from South Kalimantan business actors during this 42nd trade mission reached an extraordinary point, not only in terms of quantity but also in turnover. Let us mutually strengthen synergy, collaboration, and networks both domestically and abroad," Khofifah affirmed.
Superior East Java products that were highly sought after included eggs, chicken meat, cattle and goats, coffee, apples and oranges, spices, fertilizer, building materials, fashion products, as well as welding machines and liquid brown sugar. Meanwhile, from South Kalimantan, the products of interest included Halaban charcoal, coconut shell charcoal, wood veneer, fishery products such as milkfish, catfish, and shrimp, as well as frozen food.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Syarifuddin also mentioned that this trade mission opens a special momentum for both provinces.
