Enhancing MSME Competitiveness, Bank Jatim Provides Product Packaging Equipment Assistance

SURABAYA, June 19, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to support the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java. In addition to actively providing capital access, bankjatim has recently officially donated product packaging equipment for MSMEs to the Cooperatives and MSMEs Office of East Java Province on Wednesday (June 19). The symbolic handover took place at the Cooperatives and MSMEs Office in Sidoarjo and was conducted by bankjatim’s Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Business, R. Arief Wicaksono, to Head of Business Production and Restructuring Division of East Java’s Cooperatives and MSMEs Office, Susanti Widyastuti.
Arief explained that the donated equipment included various items such as printers, sticker cutting machines, thermal laminators, cameras, and more. According to him, this initiative is an expression of bankjatim’s care and appreciation for the people of East Java who have entrusted the bank to grow its business.
“bankjatim is not only focused on business growth, but we are also committed to delivering value that benefits society. This donation of packaging equipment is a stimulus for East Java MSMEs to enhance their packaging quality, helping their products access broader markets and enabling better market penetration,” he said.
Arief also mentioned that the main goal of the donation is to help MSMEs improve their product packaging in a way that attracts more customers. In today’s competitive business world, design and packaging quality play a critical role. Packaging is not just a container for the product—it’s the first visual impression that consumers encounter.
“We hope that with this support, the productivity and competitiveness of MSMEs in East Java will continue to rise and modernize, which in turn will positively impact product sales and regional economic growth. This initiative is part of bankjatim’s active role in improving the welfare of MSME players,” he added.
On the same occasion, Susanti Widyastuti expressed her sincere gratitude to bankjatim for its contribution to MSMEs.
“Hopefully, with the product packaging equipment from bankjatim, MSMEs will be more motivated to enhance their brand awareness and product quality, so their goods become more recognized and trusted by both existing and potential consumers. This will lead to increased sales and better welfare for MSMEs,” she emphasized.
