BANYUWANGI, December 14, 2025. As a form of environmental commitment, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim), through the Bank Jatim Runner community, once again held the Jatimers Run To Care event on Sunday (14/12). This time, the social activity was carried out in Banyuwangi and was directly attended by Bank Jatim's Deputy President Director, R. Arief Wicaksono.
Arief explained that the Jatimers Run to Care is a routine annual agenda that has been consistently carried out by the Bank Jatim Runner community. 2025 marks the third year of implementation. This year, the results of the fundraising were focused on supporting environmental conservation activities and humanitarian aid for victims of the Mount Semeru eruption. "The funds generated from this donation are used for various social activities. Starting from planting mangrove seedlings, planting pine tree seedlings, releasing turtle hatchlings, providing trash facilities at Cemara Beach, Banyuwangi, as well as distributing humanitarian aid for victims of the Mount Semeru eruption," he elaborated.
According to Arief, through the Jatimers Run To Care event, Bank Jatim does not only play a role in building social and environmental awareness for the community but also provides a space for employees to contribute to the environment. This series of events can be a valuable experience to strengthen relationships between employees, broaden perspectives, and foster empathy. "We want to invite participants to see that environmental preservation and public education are important things that must be championed together. This is a positive campaign tool that can strengthen the positive image of Bank Jatim's commitment to environmental preservation and support the realization of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)," he explained.
Arief also conveyed that this activity is a form of care of the Jatimers towards one another. "But maybe just running is common, how positive it would be if, while running, we could also donate. And thank God, the enthusiasm of the Jatimers today to run and donate to those in need is extraordinary," he said.
Arief hopes that with this activity, the Jatimers will be more enthusiastic because, truly, in a healthy body there is a strong soul. Thus, it is hoped that it can have a positive impact on the company's performance. "All participants are expected not only to focus on physical health but also to contribute to supporting social campaigns aimed at communities in need. Therefore, Jatimers Run To Care can become an event that holds the meaning that individual participation can create significant change for the community," he concluded.
