JAKARTA, July 25, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has won two prestigious awards, one of which was presented by national media Beritasatu.com in the category of Digital Transformation for Society. The award recognized BJTM’s success in delivering digital banking services. Held at the JS Luwansa Hotel Jakarta, the award was presented by B-Universe Business Director Melly Marliani and received by bankjatim Corporate Communications AVP Bambang Supriadi on Thursday evening (July 25). The event was also attended by Indonesia’s Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Disway Network Founder Dahlan Iskan, and East Java Vice Governor (2019–2024) Emil Elestianto Dardak.
bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman explained that the award from B-Universe is a clear testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire bankjatim team in maintaining solid performance and consistently implementing various transformations, especially digital ones.
“We are deeply grateful and thankful for this award. We hope it can motivate bankjatim to continue innovating so the company can grow sustainably and never stop giving the best for this country,” he stated.
According to Busrul, digitalization is no longer optional—it is a necessity for banks to remain relevant and competitive in today’s digital economy. Therefore, bankjatim is committed to continuously innovating and developing digital technology that meets customers’ needs and supports inclusive economic growth.
“We are actively developing our digital products and services under JConnect, which serves daily financial transactions such as bill payments, taxes, levies, online shopping, e-money top-ups, and QRIS transactions,” he said.
To further enhance digitalization, bankjatim has also partnered with local governments across East Java to facilitate online payment services, including the implementation of Regional Government Transaction Electronification (ETPD), e-Samsat, and Regional Government Credit Cards (KKPD).
“We are committed to continuing collaborations and rolling out digital innovations to ensure secure and convenient transactions for our customers,” he emphasized.
At the same event, East Java Vice Governor 2019–2024 Emil Elestianto Dardak was also honored in the Social Welfare Improvement category for the Millennial Job Center (MJC) program. The initiative connects young talents in the creative industry with opportunities to improve their freelance skills in the gig economy, while also assisting MSMEs in accessing the support needed to grow their businesses.
Enggartiasto Lukita also addressed the audience, stating that the purpose of the Satu Inspirasi event is to ensure award recipients become role models who inspire others. “We hope these awards become a source of pride for the winners and continue to drive innovation in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia Vision 2045),” he said.
Awardees were selected across six categories: Social Welfare Improvement, Environmental Conservation and Renewable Energy, Bureaucratic Reform and Excellent Services, Community Economic Development, Digital Transformation for Society, and Commitment to Regional Development.
On the same day, bankjatim also received recognition as a Company Supporting the Development of Local Media at the Jatim Media Summit 2024, organized by Beritajatim.com in collaboration with Suara.com. Held at the Whiz Luxe Hotel Surabaya Ballroom, the award was presented by Suara.com CEO Suwarjono and received by bankjatim Investor Relations AVP Derry Widya Ariyanta. East Java Acting Governor Adhy Karyono was also in attendance.
“The development of information technology has been extraordinary, shifting media from traditional to digital platforms. Through this event, we hope to foster media independence and strengthen their technological competence,” Adhy explained.
He also emphasized the importance of synergy between media and all sectors—bureaucracy, politics, economics, health, and others—so that all stakeholders can work together harmoniously. The Jatim Media Summit aims to provide shared benefits: learning good media practices, managing media companies professionally and productively, and ultimately delivering real, accurate, and trustworthy journalism that impacts society.
In response to the award, Busrul expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. He emphasized the importance of developing local media and hoped that JMS 2024 would enhance local media capacity so they can compete and innovate to attract broader audiences.
“We hope that through JMS 2024, East Java’s local media can enhance human resources and take full advantage of technology. That way, local media in East Java can continue to innovate and produce top-quality content and journalism,” he concluded.
