SURABAYA, August 9, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to collaborate with the programs of the East Java Provincial Government to provide the best services to the public. One of the forms of support from bankjatim is facilitating easy payment options for Trans Jatim bus transportation. Thanks to the excellent service provided by BJTM, on Friday (August 9), the company received appreciation from the East Java Provincial Transportation Office (Dishub) for its cooperation in providing cashless payment services through QRIS on the Trans Jatim E-Ticketing system.
The certificate of appreciation was presented by the Head of Dishub East Java, Dr. Nyono, and was received by the Compliance Director of bankjatim, Umi Rodiyah, during the inauguration of the operational bus service for Trans Jatim Corridor IV (Gresik - Lamongan) and Trans Jatim Luxury, held at Lamongan Square. Also present at the event was the Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono.
Umi expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government for the appreciation given to bankjatim. "We have been working with Dishub East Java to provide support for cashless payment tools, namely QRIS from bankjatim. It’s easy, just open mobile banking and scan the QRIS barcode. Now, people who want to use Trans Jatim bus transportation no longer need to worry," she said.
Umi further explained that bankjatim will continue to support the programs conducted by the East Java Provincial Government for the convenience of the people. "This also aligns with the National Cashless Movement (GNNT) program initiated by Bank Indonesia, making it easier for passengers and bus operators," she added.
According to Umi, the cashless payment system has become a necessity to simplify payments for the public, and it also allows funds to be transferred directly into accounts in real-time. This is more efficient in terms of time and effort. "We will continue to develop digital payments to support the acceleration of digitalization. We hope that through this initiative, bankjatim can continue to be a good partner for the East Java Provincial Government and that all of our products and services will benefit all of our customers," she concluded.
Meanwhile, Adhy Karyono explained that the development of Trans Jatim Corridor IV is part of the effort to provide comfortable and affordable public transportation in the Surabaya Metropolitan area, covering the Gerbangkertosusila region (Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Lamongan) and beyond. "Gerbangkertosusila and its extended areas, such as Jombang, will be connected by truly modern mass transportation systems with digital information systems," he said.
The Trans Jatim Luxury service offers more comfort to passengers, starting from Corridor I. "Trans Jatim Luxury, or the business class, is designed to reduce the burden on regional budget subsidies. For workers who travel long distances, they can choose the luxury option, even though it costs IDR 20,000," Adhy explained.
After the official launch of Corridor IV, Adhy mentioned that preparations are underway for Trans Jatim Corridor V, which will connect Surabaya to Bangkalan. In the future, the transportation modes provided will not only include buses but also Light Rail Transit (LRT), Electric Rail Train (KRL), and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).
Nyono added that the Trans Jatim Luxury buses will be larger than regular Trans Jatim buses and will provide more luxurious facilities, similar to express buses. "The seats will be comfortable, there will be no standing passengers, and there will be a stewardess. The Luxury buses for this metropolitan transportation will operate in Corridor I of Trans Jatim, which connects Sidoarjo-Surabaya-Gresik with round-trip service," he concluded.
