MOJOKERTO, December 9, 2023 - PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to support various local government programs for mutual progress. This was realized by providing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Mojokerto City Government in the form of 1 unit of free school transportation cars. Located at PLUT Maja Citra Kinarya Mojokerto, the handover was carried out symbolically by bankjatim Operations Director Arif Suhirman to Mojokerto Mayor Ika Puspitasari on Saturday (9/12).

Arif explained, the provision of school transportation cars aims to improve services to the community, especially to Mojokerto City students who need transportation to school. "Hopefully, this car can make it easier for students to go to school, including those in areas with transportation difficulties. So, all students in Mojokerto City can be more enthusiastic in the learning process at school," he said.

Arif continued, the free school transportation car is expected to make a difference for the people in Mojokerto, especially in the field of education. So that the Human Resources (HR) of Mojokerto City can be more advanced and more enthusiastic in achieving the dreamed goals. According to him, in the CSR program, the most important thing is not the value of the assistance, but how the realization of CSR is realized for the common good to improve the welfare of the community.

"This is also proof that we are very concerned about the world of education. Hopefully bankjatim cooperation with Mojokerjo City Government can continue and get better in the future, "he said.

On the same day, there was also a CSR handover in Sumenep. CSR assistance provided to the Sumenep District Government is 20 units of electric vehicles, 12 units of golf carts, and 40 units of MSME tents. The handover was carried out symbolically by bankjatim Risk Management Director Eko Susetyono to Sumenep Regent Achmad Fauzi on Saturday night (9/12).

Eko said that the electric vehicles and golf carts will be used in the Gili Iyang Islands Sumenep to complete the infrastructure so that tourists visiting there can enjoy sightseeing tours with environmentally friendly vehicles. Given that Gili Iyang is a tourist attraction with the second best oxygen level in the world, so electric vehicles are very suitable for use in the area because they do not cause air pollution.

According to Eko, Gili Iyang has great potential to be developed, especially in the tourism sector and creative industry. If optimized, of course, it will be able to boost local economic growth. "Well, to advance it automatically requires the attention and concern of many parties. Therefore, we thank the Sumenep Regency Government because bankjatim was given the opportunity to contribute to developing Gili Iyang tourism," he explained.

In addition to electric vehicles, as a form of corporate social responsibility to the community, bankjatim also provided CSR assistance for UMKM tents to the Sumenep Regency Government through the Sumenep Regency Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade. This is a form of support and optimization of MSME activities as one of the pillars of the economic sector and at the same time is used to replace damaged trader tents. So that traders will feel more comfortable in working, especially during the rainy season.

According to Eko, the MSME sector must fully receive support from all parties. Therefore, bankjatim has not only provided support in the field of funding, but also presents solutions for the development of MSMEs in East Java both in terms of promotion and market access. "Providing promotional access for MSMEs is an important factor that must be done if you want these Sumenep MSME products to be recognized by the wider community and have strong purchasing power. So it is hoped that this tent assistance for Sumenep Regency can create an increase in the community's economy," he said.

On the occasion, Sumenep Regent Achmad Fauzi appreciated and expressed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the assistance provided. "Hopefully this cooperation in the future can continue to be improved. We will make the best use of this assistance to support and serve the community, especially in terms of increasing tourism and realizing upscale and highly competitive MSMEs," he said.
